SafeIQ Demo Overview

A day in the life of a WM Collections driver using SafeIQ on his in-cab tablet. Meet John, see what SafeIQ knows about his day, then click through the moments where the tablet helps him: at the start of his shift, on his route and when he returns to the yard.

The Safety Learning Curve

Higher scores unlock more advanced, real-world scenarios and questions. John is on level 2, so SafeIQ gives him scenario questions about common situations at typical stops, and brings back topics he's missed.

We'll step through the interaction points John would have with SafeIQ during this shift:

1Shift startMorning briefing, pre-start inspection and a short pre-start questionnaire
2On routeDriving without distractions, backing guidance at the disposal site, a weather update and an optional lunch refresher
3End of shiftPost-trip inspection, personal feedback on today's driving, and closing the shift
Planning for today

What SafeIQ combines for John's day

Before John arrives, SafeIQ pulls together what WM's planning and onboard systems already know. No single input decides what he sees. It's the combination that makes the guidance relevant to him, today.

SafeIQ daily guidance for JohnLocations mapped to rules, weighed against his level and history
What John will see today
1Three key risks in his morning briefing, each with the standard to apply
1Front-right tire flagged first on his pre-start inspection
1A pre-start questionnaire on speed for conditions, because rain is coming
2Backing guidance queued by the geofence and shown when he stops at the disposal site
2A visual rain reminder before 10:00, and an optional refresher at lunch
3Feedback on one turn he took too fast, and a learning on right-side intersections before he closes his shift

Why the combination matters. Rain on its own would produce the same generic advice for every driver. Rain on a route with 14 right-side intersections, for a level 2 driver in his third shift this week, gives John a short pre-start questionnaire on speed in rain and, later, a learning on right turns. The geofence at the disposal site, plus his missed backing question 21 days ago, means the backing guidance and its question come back at exactly the place he needs them.

SafeIQ suggests most of this and lets John choose when to engage. Only checks that WM requires (like the pre-start inspection) or a mandatory update approved by a manager can hold up his shift.
